Vertex is one of the top ten smartphone sales leaders in the Russian market. Yes Yes! Don't be surprised. Smartphones of this brand occupy a leading position among all Russian brands. Vertex Impress Luck is the most budget gadget and costs 3500 rubles. But this does not mean that it is flawed, made of cheap plastic, with an old operating system and a nondescript look. This "ultrabudzhetnik" is not ashamed to pull out of your pocket and use in public. Features are not weak - Android 7.0, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB, two good cameras, a 5-inch screen, and plastic panels that are pleasant to the touch and modern design.

Vertex Impress Luck: Advantages and disadvantages

Affordable "decent" smartphone on the Russian market with good equipment and non-repulsive design.

Unlike "classmates", it has on board not the latest, but the current version of the Android OS.

The body panels are made of high quality plastic. The back panel is rubberized. The panels are fitted to each other without gaps, causing only pleasant tactile sensations.

The appearance is simple, but it looks decent.

Widget from SocialMart

MediaTek's quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM easily cope with everyday tasks and pleases the user with comfortable work.

The presence of two separate slots for SIM-cards and a separate slot for SD-cards is a real luxury for such a price segment.

The speaker sounds nice. The sound is loud and clear, without the characteristic "cheap" wheezing.

+ 5-inch screen with IPS technology, which gives a nice picture and wide viewing angles.

The smartphone works fine in 3G networks. GPS works well, so Vertex Impress Luck can be used in the car as a navigator.

The screen resolution is low, the processor is economical and simple, so the battery charge lasts two to three days during standard operation of the smartphone.

- Smartphone cameras take pictures of mediocre quality, although this is quite expected from the "ultra-budget".

- Touch buttons are not backlit, which is not comfortable in case of complete darkness.

conclusions

Vertex Impress Luck, despite the absolute leadership in terms of budget, is clearly not one. The smartphone looks clearly more expensive than the real price. It is well built and pleasant to use. The gadget is well equipped - Android 7.0 operating system without additional add-ons, a five-inch IPS screen, a fast and economical processor, 8 GB of internal memory, two cameras with flash and a number of other advantages that are typical only for more expensive models. Vertex Impress Luck is a worthy solution for budget-minded people who need a reliable and functional device for at least two to three years.

Today, a relatively recently released Vertex Impress Luck NFC (4G) smartphone came to my review. This model is based on the once very popular budget Vertex Impress Luck. Only the hardware platform has undergone changes, while the appearance has remained unchanged. The hero of today's review, in comparison with its predecessor, has acquired a more powerful processor, fast Internet, and an NFC module. Let's quickly see what a budget smartphone is capable of, the cost of which at the time of publication of the review in the company's official online store is 5,500 rubles.

Packing and scope of delivery

Vertex Impress Luck NFC (4G) comes in a small black cardboard box. On the box there is a color image of the smartphone itself, as well as its detailed technical characteristics and the delivery package. The box is sealed by the manufacturer.

The package includes a rechargeable battery, USB cable, mains charger, user manual and warranty card. The screen of the smartphone is protected by a transport film, which shows the main features of this model.

I note that the charger is included in the kit for 5V 1A, the vast majority of smartphones are equipped with such. Therefore, if necessary, finding a replacement for him will not be difficult.

Unfortunately, there are no additional accessories, even a protective film for the screen, in the kit. However, it is pleasant to note that protective glass and a case for this model are still on sale.

Appearance

The Vertex Impress Luck NFC (4G) smartphone received an entirely plastic case, it would be simply stupid to expect glass or metal in this price segment. But on the other hand, the back cover of this model has a Soft-touch coating resistant to various pollution. Yes, and holding a smartphone with such a coating is very convenient and pleasant. The dimensions of the smartphone are 144x73x9.5 mm and weighs 290 grams. Using Vertex Luck NFC (4G) with one hand is quite comfortable, well, at least for an adult.

Vertex Impress Luck NFC (4G) is available in two colors, with a black or blue back cover. The side frames of the screen in both cases are black.

Most of the front panel of the smartphone is occupied by a 5 "screen with an aspect ratio of 16:9, I will talk about it in more detail in the next section of the review. Above the screen are the earpiece speaker, front camera, light and proximity sensors, and a flash. Personally, I am in the place of the latter I would have preferred to see an LED indicator for missed events, but the manufacturer felt that a flash would be more appropriate here.

Below the screen are three non-illuminated touch buttons.

Connectors for connecting the charger, as well as wired headphones, are placed on the upper end of the smartphone case.

The microphone is located at the bottom of the case. Also on one of the corners there is a small recess that helps to remove the back cover.

The volume control keys, as well as the power/lock of the smartphone are located on the right side of the case. I note that the buttons protrude slightly from the case, making them very convenient to use.

On the back side of the smartphone case there is a main camera with a flash, a multimedia speaker and the manufacturer's logo. The back cover itself is removable. On the inside of it is the NFC antenna of the module.

Under the back cover there is also a removable battery, two nano-SIM SIM card slots, and a microSD memory card slot.

When using Vertex Impress Luck NFC (4G) leaves a good impression. It is perfectly assembled, the side buttons do not play, and the back cover does not creak or flex when you press it. The dimensions and weight of the smartphone make it easy to use it with one hand. And thanks to the practical Soft-touch coating Vertex Impress Luck NFC (4G) not only looks great, but is also less prone to various pollution. In general, for the appearance, he receives an unambiguous offset.

Screen

Smartphone Vertex Impress Luck NFC (4G) received a budget 5 "screen with a resolution of 854x480 pixels. However, the matrix is made using IPS technology and has good color reproduction and excellent viewing angles. In sunny weather outside, the brightness of the screen backlight is noticeably lost, but still it remains readable.

In the presence of a light sensor, respectively, it is possible to adaptively adjust the brightness of the screen backlight.

The sensor recognizes only two simultaneous taps on the screen. On the other hand, this is more than enough for a budget smartphone.

In general, the screen is not bad for this price segment. It has a good color reproduction, the brightness of the backlight is regulated within a fairly wide range, and I did not notice any obvious defects when viewing various content. Of course, I would like at least HD resolution, but I think that then this model would cost a little more.

Software

Operates smartphone Vertex Impress Luck NFC (4G) running the operating system Android 8.1. Naturally, it is possible to obtain the latest software updates over the air.

The launcher is stock, there is a minimum of software garbage in the firmware.

There are quite a lot of desktop wallpapers preinstalled, so everyone can choose something to their liking.

It is possible to edit the status bar.

Out of the box, the interface works smoothly, delays when launching applications are minimal, and no freezes of the smartphone were noticed during testing.

Smartphone at work

The Vertex Impress Luck NFC (4G) smartphone is based on a combination of a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor and 1 GB of RAM. The processor runs at a maximum frequency of 1.5 GHz. The graphics subsystem is represented by the PowerVR GE8100 accelerator.

Despite the fact that the smartphone belongs to the budget segment, its hardware component allows you to play modern games quite comfortably, albeit at medium or minimum graphics settings.

I note that with such a load, there is moderate heating of the case in the area of \u200b\u200bthe main camera, but there is no drop in smartphone performance.

As for the built-in memory, the Vertex Impress Luck NFC (4G) has only 8 GB on board. A little more than 5 GB is available out of the box for the needs of the user, the rest of the memory is occupied by operating system files and pre-installed software. Also, the smartphone has support for microSD memory cards.

The set of sensors consists of an accelerometer, light and proximity sensors. They work correctly, I did not have any complaints about them during the testing of the smartphone.

Also pleased with the work of the navigation module. In open areas, a cold start is almost instantaneous. A smartphone is quite suitable for the role of a navigator.

As I said at the very beginning of the review, this smartphone supports fourth-generation networks. The results of testing data transfer speeds turned out to be quite good, the maximum that we managed to get was 43.7 Mb / s for reception and 19 Mb / s for transmission (Khabarovsk, cellular operator - YOTA).

Vertex Impress Luck NFC (4G) is equipped with a pair of slots for SIM cards, while both slots support 4G. During conversations, this model showed itself on the positive side, there were no questions to the conversational speaker or to the microphone.

One of the main features of the smartphone is the presence of an NFC module, which allows, among other things, making contactless payments in stores or public transport. To do this, just install the Google Pay application and save your bank card details in it.

Smartphone Vertex Impress Luck NFC (4G) does not belong to long-livers, it is equipped with a rather modest 2000 mAh battery. In the calls + messengers mode, the battery lasts for one working day, and if you load your smartphone with games, then you should not count on autonomy for more than 3-4 hours.

Camera

The Vertex Impress Luck NFC (4G) smartphone received a 5 megapixel main camera and a 2 megapixel front camera. Both cameras are equipped with flashes, but have a fixed focus.

The quality of the pictures is quite enough to capture something if necessary.

Also, the main camera allows you to record video in FullHD resolution at 30 fps, the output file format is *.3gp. It turns out, in fact, quite well.

Conclusion

The Vertex Impress Luck NFC (4G) smartphone is a typical budget device, and it turned out to be quite good. The model has a couple of interesting features in its arsenal. The main advantages of this model are the support of fourth generation networks and the presence of an NFC module. Yes, at the same time, the smartphone has a low screen resolution, relatively little memory on board and a camera without autofocus, but due to this, it was possible to keep its cost down. In addition, this model does not look cheap, the smartphone is pleasant and convenient to use.

You open news about smartphones on specialized sites - and you see the same thing. Samsung flagships, Sony flagships, LG flagships, iPhone X... Everyone writes about them. That is, about devices priced at 30-60 thousand rubles and more. Certainly, it is interesting to read about such models. But then the Russians go to the stores and most often buy completely different devices.

The situation in MegaFon's retail network is indicative. According to the results of the pre-New Year sales at the end of 2017, the Galaxy S8 did not take the first place there. And not the iPhone X. And not any other flagship. Vertex Impress Luck became the first in terms of sales in pieces. It was this model that turned out to be the best-selling in MegaFon. Which is not surprising: the price of a smartphone is 3.5 thousand rubles. Thus, this is the most affordable device on the Russian market: there are analogues, but they are several hundred rubles more expensive. However, what does it mean - analogues? For such money, smartphones are usually offered made of cheap plastic, nondescript and with old versions of Android. Such as in real life it is not only difficult to use (because of the brakes), but also frankly unpleasant. What is called, ashamed to get out of your pocket.

Vertex Impress Luck is not like that at all. Even despite the lowest price, the first for the Russian market. It looks quite decent, it is well-built and carries on board not the outdated Android 5.1 or 6.0, like the “competitors”, but Android 7.0. Also, of course, not the latest version, but - quite relevant. In general, Vertex turned out to be such an interesting “ultra-budget” phone: it manages to be the first in terms of price, but at the same time it is far from the weakest in terms of performance and design.

OVertex

For order - a couple of words about the brand Vertex. It seems that readers will be interested to know who released the best-selling device of pre-New Year sales (that is, one of the most popular smartphones in Russia at the end of 2017). Vertex ranks sixth in sales of smartphones in the Russian market - as they say, find out and be surprised. After all, many believe that the top ten consists mainly of large international brands. But no, it's different. Vertex in Russia is the sixth. And overtakes Sony, HTC, Micromax and ZTE. And Vertex is the first in terms of sales among all Russian smartphone brands.

Vertex has a specific policy regarding device design and quality control. As for the design, we can say this: the brand does not offer faceless and outwardly unpleasant smartphones at all. Despite the low prices, each Vertex device has some zest. And Vertex Impress Luck also has it (we will definitely return to this issue below). With quality control of manufactured smartphones, it is still more interesting. In Vertex, not without pride, they say that the level of marriage in their smartphones does not exceed 2%. And it's really very, very little. Usually local Russian brands are very friendly with marriage. The share of defective smartphones often exceeds 10%. In general, in the market, if we take into account large reputable companies, the level of marriage is around 5%. That is, 5% of all manufactured devices have one or another defect. 5% - the average probability that you will be "delighted" with a defect in the purchased smartphone immediately after its purchase or within a couple of days. This is an average for everyone, but not for Vertex.

So Vertex's quality is really top-notch - a miserable 2% against 5% and even 10%! Vertex is the first in quality among manufacturers of budget smartphones.

And one moment. Vertex has a creative approach to the formation of its line of smartphones. Dozens of walk-through models, as is the case with many second-tier brands, are not in the Vertex line of smartphones. There are only smartphones with a twist. Some models are the first on the market by any parameter, others are the most. For example, Vertex Impress Tor and Impress Grip are the first budget secure smartphones in Russia based on Qualcomm chipsets (USA). This ensures high-quality navigation and low power consumption, which is very important for secure smartphones (after all, they are usually taken by tourists and travelers). Vertex Impress Luck, in turn, belongs to the category of "most". He, as mentioned above, is the most affordable smartphone on the market - 3.5 thousand rubles.

Equipment

It is as simple as possible: instructions, a warranty card, a MicroUSB cable and a 1 A charging unit. Vertex Impress Luck is charged 100% from it for about two hours.

Appearance and design

On the one hand, Vertex Impress Luck looks quite simple - it doesn't have any very bright elements. Just because of the budget nature of the device.

On the other hand, the back of the model is very reminiscent of the iPhone 5c. There was at one time such a plastic device, positioned as the most inexpensive Apple smartphone. So Vertex Impress Luck - it both feels and design of the back panel resembles this same iPhone 5c. And no, we are not talking about direct thoughtless copying. It's just that the proportions and design of the back are very similar. And for a smartphone for 3000 rubles, this is a very compliment. I must admit that Vertex Impress Luck is the first budget smartphone in many years, which really pleased with its design.

Moreover, the Vertex Impress Luck is much nicer to the touch than the same iPhone 5c and many other inexpensive plastic Android smartphones. The fact is that almost all of them have hard plastic back covers. Whether it's matte or glossy, it's a similar material and looks cheap and doesn't feel too good to the touch. Whether it's Vertex Impress Luck: it has a rubberized back panel, a bit velvety. And just very pleasant. You don’t even expect that a smartphone for 3000 rubles can provide such positive tactile sensations. But that's exactly it!

On the back of the smartphone are the camera, flash and speaker. The latter provides a good sound. Of course, you should not expect the sound of the level of some iPhone X. Nevertheless, the Vertex Impress Luck sings both quite loudly and without annoying hoarseness, as is often the case with devices with an ultra-low price tag.

Above the display, the Vertex Impress Luck has a proximity sensor, earpiece, and front camera. Everything is simple here: the sensor turns off the screen correctly and in time when you bring the smartphone to your ear, and the speaker clearly transmits speech. The camera, respectively, allows you to take selfies. We will return to the quality of images and photo opportunities below in the corresponding section. What the model does not have is a light sensor. Therefore, auto adjustment of the screen brightness is not possible.

Below the screen are three touch control buttons. Too bad they don't have a backlight. In the dark, you have to poke at random. It's a bit annoying at first, but you get used to it after a couple of days. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that much more expensive smartphones do not have backlighting of the buttons - for example, some Xiaomi with a price of 10 thousand rubles. So the device for 3 thousand is quite excusable. Although, I repeat, not particularly pleasant.

The back panel of the Vertex Impress Luck is removable. The battery is also removable. This is good: in which case, after a few years of using a smartphone, you can buy a new battery and use it for a few more years. In most modern smartphones, we remind you that batteries are built-in. And you can replace them only in a service center, and even then not always.

We remove the battery from the Vertex Impress Luck - and we get access to three slots at once. Two for MicroSIM SIM cards, and the third one can insert a MicroSD card. It's great that Vertex Impress Luck has separate sockets. Today this is extremely rare. Most often, you can insert either two SIM cards into smartphones, or one SIM card and MicroSD. In the hero of this review, there is no such annoying limitation. Despite, again, the first price on the market.

The MicroUSB port for charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack are located on the top of the case. An important point: the sockets are spaced, and it is quite possible to connect the “ears” when the smartphone is charging. This is an important point, because often the ports in cheap devices are also located nearby. So close that you can’t plug in the cable and headphones at the same time. The Vertex Impress Luck does not have this problem.

The volume rocker and power button are on the right. The keys are comfortable, go in their grooves clearly. Note that the volume swing is divided into two parts by a small notch. Which is very convenient: it is easier to grope for the upper and lower halves. In general, it should be noted that in terms of ergonomics, the device has a lot of such well-thought-out details. What, I repeat once again, you do not expect from a smartphone with the first, lowest price on the market.

Summing up the impressions of the case: Vertex Impress Luck - extremely neatly assembled, it is very comfortable and looks more expensive than it costs. Such sensations could be expected from a smartphone for 5-6 thousand rubles, but the Vertex Impress Luck is half the price!

Display

The smartphone uses a 5-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. The screen is made using IPS technology, which guarantees eye-pleasing color reproduction and wide viewing angles. By the way, it's great that IPS is used in Vertex Impress Luck. Often, ultra-budget devices still have cheap TN screens, which give a much less pleasant picture.

It is curious that in the settings of the Vertex Impress Luck a whole set of tools for adjusting the image was found. For example, you can manually adjust the contrast, saturation, color temperature. In a word, completely adjust the picture on the screen for yourself.

The front of the smartphone is covered with glass. Often, budget models use plastic, and rough. Because of this, moving your finger across the display is unpleasant. In the case of Vertex Impress Luck, we see an absolutely smooth surface. This is a big plus.

Hardware platform

The MediaTek MT6580 quad-core chipset is a time-tested and reliable solution. It is not mega-productive, but provides quite a decent speed. Neither the Android interface, nor browsers, nor social network clients slow down. There is not much RAM in the device, 1 GB, but the screen resolution is not high - 480 x 854. All this in total ensures normal operation speed. So Vertex Impress Luck is also a very fast smartphone.

Moreover, on Vertex Impress Luck you can even play modern toys with a decent level of graphics quality. Here's a smartphone for 3 thousand rubles!

For example, let's take a video of Mortal Kombat X - this is just a modern game with 3D graphics that is serious and full of dynamic scenes. I did not fix any brakes in it. The Vertex Impress Luck hardware handled graphics processing without issue.

In benchmarks, the smartphone shows an expectedly small number of points. And this is normal: you didn’t think that a device for 3 thousand rubles would be able to compete on equal terms with some Samsung Galaxy S9, which costs about 60 thousand? And yes, do not forget that all these points in practice do not play a huge role. Yes, Vertex Impress Luck does not have a lot of points. But it works quickly and allows you to play games. What else is needed?

Connection

Unfortunately, Vertex Impress Luck does not support LTE. But this is absolutely expected for a smartphone with the first, lowest price. Models for 4G networks are on sale from 6 thousand. So, we repeat, there is nothing to complain about. Well, in 3G networks, our hero works fine.

There are no problems with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth either. As with navigation. The smartphone found 9 satellites in less than a minute and adequately navigated them. For a budget model, this is a very positive moment: often for smartphones with price tags of the “below the plinth” level, GPS works very badly. But the Vertex Impress Luck is good. The device can be used as a navigator both in the car and outside it.

Here, perhaps, we add that the Vertex Impress Luck has an FM radio. It only works when headphones are connected (they act as an antenna) and allows you to record the broadcast.

Offline work

Vertex Impress Luck is equipped with a 2200 mAh battery. Since the device has a low-resolution screen, and the chipset is simple and economical, battery life reaches about three days. This is if you do not watch the video and do not play. If you do this, then you can count on a day and a half. Which is also quite good for the most inexpensive Android smartphone.

Once again, we add that the battery of the Vertex Impress Luck is removable. So after a few years, when the complete battery loses its capacity, you can buy another one. And install it yourself without resorting to the non-free help of masters from the service center.

cameras

Since the device is ultra-budgetary, it is at least short-sighted to expect incredible photo opportunities from it. Color reproduction, of course, is far from ideal. Clarity is also sometimes lame. But with the rear 5-megapixel camera, you can take photos of text. And then it will not be difficult to make out in the pictures.

Front camera 2 megapixels. Let's just show an example of a snapshot taken with it:

The interface for shooting is quite convenient. Lots of settings. If you wish, you can dig into them and, perhaps, achieve some improvement in the quality of the photo. But to count on miracles, I repeat, is not worth it.

Software

Unlike many "ultrabudzhetnik" that come with outdated versions of Android 60 or 5.1, Vertex Impress Luck is on Board Android 7.0 Nougat. That is, it is quite relevant (although it is also far from the last; however, it is obvious that 7.0 is better than 6.0, or even more so 5.1).

The interface remained standard - nothing was changed in Vertex. As a result, we see pure Android without unnecessary shells, which often only provoke glitches and brakes, without any particular benefit.

There are a number of pre-installed applications. However, they can be easily removed, they are not built into the firmware tightly. For this, the guys from Vertex have a big respect: often all this pre-installed rubbish cannot be removed from smartphones. Rubbish only takes up precious memory (by the way, in Vertex Impress Luck this very memory is 8 GB plus MicroSD).

In tinctures, gesture control was found. The most curious of them is turning on the screen by double tapping. This option is rarely found in smartphones, even in expensive ones.

There is support for updates over the air. While testing the Vertex Impress Luck, another update just arrived. I installed it right away, of course.

I did not find any innovations, so, probably, the developers just optimized something. And this, by the way, is very cool: manufacturers often abandon their budget smartphones immediately after the start of sales and do not release any updates for them.

Conclusion

So, to begin with, we recall that the Vertex Impress Luck is the cheapest smartphone on the Russian market: it is sold for about 3,500 rubles. The closest models in terms of price go for about 4000. The difference seems to be not great, but for those who buy such ultra-budget models, every extra hundred is critical. So Vertex Impress Luck is not without interest in this regard: it is 500 rubles cheaper than its competitors. At the same time, the smartphone looks very worthy - obviously more expensive than it costs. Vertex Impress Luck is the first budget device in the last five years, which personally pleased me with its design. In appearance, it can be estimated at 5 thousand. Plus, the similarity to the iPhone 5c gives it extra points. As well as a very pleasant to the touch back panel. As a rule, competitors do not have anything like this. Although they are even a bit more expensive - for those same 500 rubles.

With quality, Vertex is also very worthy - do not forget that in terms of quality control and an ultra-low level of marriage, Vertex is the first among all manufacturers of budget smartphones. And yes, during testing, we did not have any complaints about the build quality of the Vertex Impress Luck, or the operation of the software, or anything else.

Among other features and advantages of Vertex Impress Luck, Android 7.0 OS is worth mentioning. Since many similar budget smartphones come with older 6.0 or 5.1 versions. They are less convenient and consume more energy. The screen of the Vertex Impress Luck, again, is decent: a good IPS-matrix is used, and not a faded cheap TN. In general, there are a whole bunch of advantages. And the main one is that the Vertex Impress Luck is not perceived as a cheap low-end device for very unassuming people. He is never like that. This is a worthy solution for economical comrades who want to buy a reliable thing for a couple of years.

  • Nice design;
  • Normal build quality;
  • Sufficient performance for modern games;
  • Bright screen.
  • Photo quality with both cameras.

I welcome the members of the Club of Experts, as well as all the guests who have visited this page.

It is customary for us to be afraid of too cheap smartphones, if not to be afraid, then to be afraid. Like, if life forces you to use such an apparatus, then that’s it, write it down! They take pictures very badly, the screens are simply disgusting, it “slows down” terribly, and if this is an operator’s smartphone, then it will also be locked.

Therefore, on holidays it is already customary to wish not only happiness, health, good luck, but also so that fate does not reduce with smartphones for three thousand rubles (just kidding). So, what am I: fate just brought me to such a smartphone. And I even left him for two weeks. And you know what I can say after this test? I could have gone further with him!

I reveal my cards: we are talking about Vertex Impress Luck - the most inexpensive smartphone from the first largest B-brand in the modern Russian market of smart handsets. Vertex Impress Luck can be bought for a little over 3 thousand rubles. I don't even know what to compare it to. Probably, in Moscow or St. Petersburg, the average check for a dinner in a cafe for two is so much.

Vertex Impress Luck left a good impression for a reason. There is every reason to believe that the appearance of this rather successful device for less than a three-ruble note is a direct consequence of the policy of the Russian Vertex brand. According to his own data, Vertex has three key principles. To be number one in a) quality, b) design, and c) technology features and/or price. With quality, the situation is as follows: the level of marriage in Vertex is on average around 2%, in other local brands of smartphones - both 5% and 10% happen. 2% is generally the level of HTC or LG, for example.

Well, before moving on to the story directly about the smartphone, I will voice two more points. First: Vertex Impress Luck was the first in terms of sales of smartphones during the pre-New Year sales in the network of MegaFon stores. Second, Vertex was ranked sixth in smartphone sales in Russia in 2017. And the first - among local Russian brands. This is probably also a consequence of the “three basic principles” approach described above.

Appearance

I remember when I first took the Vertex Impress Luck out of the box, I was amazed. The reason for the astonishment was that it has an extremely pleasant body material - such a velvety, soft-touch plastic. No, this is not a typical rubber with a bad smell, like many smartphones priced at 3-4 thousand. This is just such a plastic velvet. After that, you somehow immediately forget about the budgetary essence of the Vertex Impress Luck - it feels more expensive than it really costs.

The design of the back cover of the Vertex Impress Luck resembles the iPhone 5c, however, it did not have a black version, but if we discard the color, then there is definitely a resemblance.

By the way, about color. Vertex Impress Luck can be not only black, but also golden. The last option, I think, is even prettier. But I, alas, visited a less bright black version.

The rear panel of the Vertex Impress Luck is removable. Below it is, again, a removable 2,200 mAh battery, as well as three card slots at once - two for SIM cards, one for a USB flash drive. By the way, this is an important plus of most cheap smartphones: only they allow you to change the battery without visiting the service and put three cards at once! Even in devices more expensive than 10,000, you won’t see anything like this anymore, there are only built-in batteries and, most often, combined slots for cards. Or two SIM-cards, or one SIM-card and in addition to it MicroSD. At Vertex Impress Luck, I repeat, everything is old-school, as in ancient times, when absolutely smartphones were a) collapsible and b) convenient.

There are cutouts on the back for the camera, flash, and speaker. Medium volume speaker - you can, of course, listen to a song together, but you can’t arrange a disco for a crowd of friends here.

There is no light sensor in the smartphone, and this is just a reflection of its budget nature. You cannot adjust the screen brightness automatically, only manually. But there are other components that are usually located above the display in smartphones. These are: proximity sensor, speaker and front camera. The voice of the interlocutor Vertex Impress Luck transmits well, without rustles and metallic notes, the proximity sensor extinguishes the screen during the conversation, but the 2 MP front camera with flash ... you can't do it with help.

Below the display are three standard touch buttons for Android smartphones. Everything is fine with them, except for one thing: there is no backlight. So in the dark you have to poke at random. This is a minus, but what can you do.

But there are no questions about the power and volume keys. They are on the right and are located very conveniently. Feeling them is easy - you definitely won’t make a mistake and won’t confuse them.

On top of the case there is a microUSB port and a standard headphone jack. The ports are located side by side, but you can plug in both the headphones and the cable at the same time. So listening to music while the Vertex Impress Luck is charging is real.

Screen

Often in smartphones for 3500-4000 rubles there are screens with a diagonal of 4.5 inches, that is, very small and not very convenient for browsing the Internet and playing games. Vertex Impress Luck offers honest 5 inches, but not simple ones, but flavored with an IPS matrix. Yes, definitely not the most expensive. Yes, with insufficiently high-quality color reproduction - the colors go into warm tones. And yet, this is IPS: black is black, not gray, viewing angles are wide, colors are saturated.

In general, we can state that Vertex tried and put in an ultra-budget smartphone not a cheap TN-matrix (as in the vast majority of state employees), which hurts the eyes, but IPS. This, of course, cannot but rejoice.

And yes, about the color temperature, which is shifted to a warm area. Vertex Impress Luck has many tools, united under the name MiraVision (this is developed by MediaTek), that allow you to customize the picture. Including making it colder, bringing it closer to the standard. So the minus described above, in general, is not a minus.

It remains to add that the screen resolution is 480 x 854 pixels. In this case, the display supports the simultaneous pressing of only two fingers. Although this is quite enough for browsing the Internet, calls and correspondence.

Soft

Vertex Impress Luck runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

The main screen has only one desktop.

The menu is implemented on one page with a scroll bar. In my opinion, the ribbon menu is inferior to the page menu in terms of navigation speed. The smartphone is practically not cluttered with third-party software, and the additional software that is installed can be easily removed.

And yes, the Vertex Impress Luck has an over-the-air update. I even managed to catch one update. I did not fix anything new after installing it, so, apparently, the developers just optimized something.

Camera

The main camera has a matrix of 5 megapixels. The camera does not have autofocus.

You should not expect anything in terms of photo capabilities from a smartphone. The examples show that the pictures are of poor quality. The image is blurry and lacks sufficient color.

The front camera is equipped with a 2 MP matrix. There is no autofocus, but there is a flash. The quality of the received photos is not so bad, considering the quality of the pictures from the main camera.

In work

To begin with, I will say that the Vertex Impress Luck is a 3G smartphone. What else could be expected? For such a cost, LTE does not exist, let's get back to earth and stop dreaming about the (yet) unrealizable. In general, more to the point: the Vertex Impress Luck uses the MediaTek MT6580 chipset with four Cortex-A7 cores (up to 1.3 GHz) and unpretentious Mali-400MP graphics. There is 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of flash memory. So to speak, the necessary minimum.

But here it is worth making a reservation: it is very possible to play on this device! Yes, you will not see all the beauties invented by the authors of the games, they will be mercilessly cut off. And yet the same Asphalt 8 runs great on low/medium settings. WoT Blitz is also on the way - you can easily “hunt” on a warm May evening.

synthetic test results.

There are no questions about wireless modules, everything works fine. Even navigation, which you really don’t expect from a smartphone of this class, and even on the MediaTek chipset. Usually, from such devices (only a little more expensive, since the closest Vertex competitors cost from 3,500 rubles) you expect only glitches, but with Vertex Impress Luck everything works more or less normally.

Offline work

2200 mAh give one and a half to two days of work. Is it a lot? Is it not enough? This, of course, is not the ultimate dream, but pretty good. More even expensive flagships usually do not work. So Vertex Impress Luck has everything within the average statistical indicators for the market. Well, let me remind you once again that the battery in the model is removable. You can buy another battery (500 rubles will cost) and use it in turn with the one that comes with the kit.

Conclusion

The first in price - that's how the developers from Vertex call it Impress Luck. Yes, the device at its price of just over 3000 rubles is really the cheapest on the market. The cheapest, but definitely not the worst. He is very decent, if not to say "good". Case - like, screen - second like, hardware - like again, battery - no better and no worse than others, software - also like. Dislike only for cameras, but cameras are not an easy thing, even smartphones for 10,000 rubles do not always take pictures well.

That's all for me, make smart purchases and enjoy new acquisitions.

I express my special gratitude to the administration of the Club of Experts for the opportunity to post this review.
